Welcome to Mitchell House

We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit boarding home focusing on comfort, dignity, and helping individuals live as fully as possible in a home-like setting in their final days.

We believe that every individual deserves to live their final days with dignity, comfort, and peace.

We provide compassionate, around-the-clock care in a home-like environment, allowing residents and their families to focus on what matters most — each other.

Our mission is to provide a peaceful, dignified, and home-like environment where those with life-limiting illnesses receive care to live as fully and comfortably as possible.

When might people want to use our services?

There are times when a family home, hospital or nursing home is not the place to care for a loved one facing a critical illness. In these cases, hospice care might be an option to consider:

The individual does not have a residence suitable for in-house hospice/medical care.

The individual's care needs are too complicated for family and/or friends in their residential setting.

The home caregiver is unavailable or unable to help due to surgery, illness, injury, or some other cause. The caregiver has become too frail, exhausted, or unwell to continue to provide care in their home.

The family or individual prefers that death occur in a setting other than their home. This might be because of the presence of emotionally fragile or very young household members.
